Musician, Low Cut Connie
Adam Weiner is the frontman of the Philadelphia based rock and roll band Low Cut Connie. Rolling Stone Magazine stated, "Loveable lowbrow rock & roll revivalists Low Cut Connie reimagine the early-Seventies Stones as South Jersey keg-party killers, or the New York Dolls in Converse sneakers." In 2015, President Obama included their song "Boozophilia" in his 20-song Summer Playlist which also featured Bob Dylan, The Temptations, Bob Marley. Howlin Wolf, the Rolling Stones, Justin Timberlake, Aretha Franklin and more. The band's must-see live show is currently on display at SXSW and their new album Dirty Pictures (Part I) is due in May. This is Adam Weiner's Fidelity High: Skip James // The Complete 1931 Session // Yazoo // 1986. Adam says, "First heard Skip James in New York City when I was 19 years old and it changed my head. His voice was from another world, like a suffering alien trapped in the human ravages of Jim Crow Mississippi. Never heard anything like it, and to this day it is untouchable. I drove halfway across the country to find his grave, only to discover he was buried in my home town of Philadelphia under his given name Nehemia James."
