Musician, Blitzen Trapper
Eric Earley is the frontman and principal songwriter for the Portland, OR-based band Blitzen Trapper. The band released their new studio album All Across This Land in October to universal critical acclaim. Avid supporters of independent record stores, they have participated in every Record Store Day since its inception and just issued their second album Field Rexx on vinyl for the first time for this year's celebration. Blitzen Trapper also recently recorded a live record for Jack White's Third Man Records, which will see release later this year. The band will hit the road again in support of All Across This Land beginning at the end of May and this is Eric Earley's Fidelity High: John Prine // Sweet Revenge // Atlantic Records // 1973. Eric says, "Love this record, some of the best, funniest story telling about middle America, with that cool outlaw country flair he really only used on that record. Like Jerry Reed and Raymond Carver had a baby, not a pretty thought but it works. Another record I got into from my dad's cassette collection on his workbench. And double denim for the cover can't beat it."
