Musician, Ultimate Painting
Jack Cooper is one half of the acclaimed duo Ultimate Painting. After three studio albums and a live record for Third Man Records, Jack just released his debut solo album, Sandgrown, via Fidelity High favorites Trouble In Mind. The album was inspired by Jack's upbringing on England's Fylde Coast & his hometown of Blackpool. It was recorded entirely on a 4-track cassette machine and also takes cues from geographic concept masterpieces such as Terry Allen's Lubbock (On Everything) and Frank Sinatra's Watertown. This is Jack Cooper's Fidelity High: White Fence // Is Growing Faith // Woodsist // 2011. Jack says, "I think I maybe prefer the first White Fence LP but this is the one my future wife brought back with her from Texas when we first met. We're both really big Woodsist fans but I'd never heard White Fence. She'd seen an early show where Tim was supporting Woods. I was immediately knocked out and between the two of us, we've bought every single thing Tim's done since. The true genius of White Fence is how he manages to take those very sixties traditional influences and classic songwriting and make these incredibly fresh, beautiful collages."
