John Doe is the bassist and cofounder of the legendary Los Angeles punk rock band X.  In addition to the band, John is also a member of The Knitters, The Flesh Eaters, as well as an acclaimed solo artist.  He is an actor who has been seen in the films Roadhouse, Great Balls of Fire, Roadside Prophets, and Boogie Nights as well as the TV series Roswell and One Tree Hill.  He is also the co-author of the book Under The Big Black Sun: A Personal History of L.A. Punk Rock with music industry veteran Tom DeSavia.  The audiobook for Under The Big Black Sun features narration from Henry Rollins, Exene Cervenka, Mike Watt and more and was nominated for a Grammy Award this year.  His latest solo album, The Westerner, features Debbie Harry and Cat Power and was released in 2016.
