Ben Lee is an Australian singer-songwriter who has been releasing albums for over half of his life. Discovered at the age of 14 with his punk band Noise Addict, the group issued their music through Thurston Moore's Ecstatic Peace! and The Beastie Boys' Grand Royal labels. His debut solo album Grandpaw Would turned 20 years old in 2015 while his multi-ARIA Award-winning album Awake Is The New Sleep turned 10. 2015 also saw the release of his 10th solo album, the wonderful Love Is The Great Rebellion. This is Ben's Fidelity High: David Lewiston // Tibetan Buddhism - The Ritual Orchestra and Chants // Nonesuch Records Explorer Series // 1976. Ben says, "I love the chants and prayers of Tibetan Buddhism. Music plays an integral role in Tantric Buddhism, it is seen as a means for transforming the whole stream of being into an illuminated awareness. I listen to all kinds of sacred music from different spiritual traditions. My daughter loves the Buddhist mantra 'Om Mane Padme Hum' which means 'The Jewel Hidden in the Lotus.' Mantras are like dynamite in the underground exploration of our unconscious."
