Jay Rutherford is the lead singer and guitarist & Aaron Mortenson is the drummer and backing vocalist for the Nashville based band Los Colognes. The band recently released their new album The Wave via Big Deal Media/Thirty Tigers which has received acclaim from Stereogum, Consequence of Sound, The Observer, American Songwriter, Relix, Culture Collide and more. Conan O'Brien's Team Coco recently premiered their video for the song "Unspoken" and Stereogum stated "between booming snare and sustained high notes, Los Colognes pack in hazy guitar solos and tropical keyboards that interlock into a tight groove." A must-see live band, Los Colognes are currently on tour and can be seen later today at the Sasquatch Music Festival taking place at the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA. This is Aaron Mortenson's Fidelity High: Dire Straits // Brothers In Arms // Warner Bros. Records // 1985. Aaron says, "This record is a classic on every level. The songs. The production. The feelings. Iconic album cover. Nothing new to say about it cuz everything has already been said. I had the pleasure of talking with Neil Dorfsman (producer) on a couple different occasions and he was telling me about how brilliant Knopfler was in regards to the care for his craft. That care shines through so incredibly on this album." This is Jay Rutherford's Fidelity High: Roxy Music // Avalon // Warner Bros. Records // 1982. Jay says, "This record just absolutely floors us upon every encounter. One of the best opening tracks ever. They recorded in the Bahamas and one can't help think that some of the rhythms of the area were seeping into the production. Beautiful moody, spacious songs with sophisticated melodies and Ferry is a master of knowing how to elicit a feeling with his lyrics. Definitely one of the best recordings of the era. Crank it up and space the fuck out!"
