Allison Moorer is a Grammy and Academy Award nominated singer-songwriter and author. Her 1998 song "A Soft Place To Fall" was included on the soundtrack to the Robert Redford feature film The Horse Whisperer, which led to an appearance in the film itself, as well as an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song. Her album Down To Believing was released in 2015 and received critical acclaim with Rolling Stone calling it "brilliant and extraordinarily candid." Allison has been featured on releases by Joan Baez, David Byrne, Rosanne Cash, and Jim Lauderdale (among others) while her songs have appeared on records by Miranda Lambert, Hayes Carll, Trisha Yearwood, Steve Earle and more. Allison is currently hard at work writing her memoir and this is her Fidelity High: Van Morrison // Astral Weeks // Warner Bros., Seven Arts Records // 1968. Allison says, "It's crazy to think that a record that means so much to so many took 30 years to sell 500,000 copies. Astral Weeks sounds like one continuous song and only the best albums sound that way. Nothing sounds more organic and romantic to me and when no other record will do, this one always will. This record is my Sunday morning lover."
