Musician, Valley Queen
Natalie Carol is the front woman of the Los Angeles based band Valley Queen. The band have drawn comparisons to Neil Young and My Morning Jacket and recently released their acclaimed Destroyer EP this year. It is the follow up to their 2016 singles In My Place and High Expectations, which were released via Canvasback Music & Atlantic Records. NPR Music's Bob Boilen stated "At first it was simply the voice that shook me," continuing, "Valley Queen's music is rich with nuance and depth, rooted deep in California country." The band kicks off a tour later this month that continues throughout the Fall in support of the Destroyer EP and this is Natalie Carol's Fidelity High: Link Wray // Link Wray // Polydor Records // 1971. Natalie says, "This vinyl was hard to find!! I like this record because it's a huge outlier in Wray's catalogue. Wray had a signature surf guitar thing going on but this record sounds like none of his other work. Some of the most tender, unbridled, loose and sincere stuff I've ever heard. Strikes a chord in me. Had many a solo dance party to this one."
