Parker Gispert

Musician, The Whigs

Parker Gispert is the frontman and principal songwriter of the critically acclaimed rock band The Whigs. Formed in Athens, GA in 2001 and now based in Nashville, TN, the band have released five studio albums and toured with Kings of Leon, The Black Keys, MGMT and more.  Late last year The Whigs released their first ever live album, Live In Little Five which was recorded at Aisle 5 in Atlanta's Little Five Points neighborhood.  The record features eight tracks spanning their entire career as well as two previously unrecorded songs to be included on their next studio album. Parker can currently be seen performing solo, acoustic shows as he is hard at work on his debut solo album. This is Parker Gispert's Fidelity High:  Les Paul and Mary Ford // The Best of the Capitol Masters - Selections From The Legend And The Legacy Box Set // 1991.  Parker says, "Les Paul and Mary Ford's 'Best of the Capitol Masters from The Legend and The Legacy' box set is my favorite tape of the moment.  I get stuck on albums and have been listening to this cassette exhaustively after picking it up last month at Red Brontosaurus Records in San Diego for a singular dollar!  Les was the lone man inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and National Inventors Hall of Fame after inventing a timeless rock and roll planet that only he inhabits.  Perhaps I’m biased because I couldn’t hear it in its original modern context but I think it shines brightest now as a fundamental musical piece of retrofuturism.  Rock!"
