Rob Lind is an original member and saxophonist for the legendary garage rock Godfathers The Sonics. Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Bruce Springsteen, The White Stripes, Mudhoney, The Cramps, The Fall, The Hives and countless others have cited them as major influences. Their first two pioneering albums, Here Are The Sonics!!! in 1965 and its follow up, Boom the next year are often credited as laying the foundation for punk rock and their originals, “Psycho,” “The Witch,” “Strychnine,” and more, have become rock and roll standards. After the band’s initial breakup in 1967, Rob served as a Navy fighter pilot in the Vietnam War. In 2015, Rob and other original members of the band released This Is The Sonics, their first studio album in 48 years. He continues to tour the world with a new live incarnation of the band and when not on the road, Rob works as an airline pilot based in North Carolina.
