Sylvan Esso is the critically acclaimed indie pop duo comprised of Amelia Meath and Nick Sanborn. Prior to forming the band, Amelia was a member of the acclaimed folk trio Mountain Man and Nick spent time as a member of the band Megafaun. The pair's eponymous debut spawned the hit song "Coffee," which Rolling Stone named one of the "50 Best Songs of 2014" and has been streamed over 57 million times on Spotify. The album reached number 39 on the Billboard 100 chart while reaching #7 on the Independent Albums chart. 2017 saw the release of their sophomore album What Now, which the AV Club called “brilliant.” They stated in their perfectly rated review that “What Now grows into something deeper, smarter, more comfortable, more intimate, and more cohesive.” They added that it “is a record so good it answers its own title question and makes you eager to ask it again.” What Now has been nominated in the "Best Dance/Electronic Album" category at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards taking place January 28th, 2018.
