Fi - Hi Podcast Ep 30: Thundercat on George Duke's Faces In Reflection

Thundercat is the stage name of the critically acclaimed bassist Stephen Bruner.  He was a latter day member of the Los Angeles based thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, has released three solo albums, and is known for his work with Kendrick Lamar, Flying Lotus, Kamasi Washington, Childish Gambino, Erykah Badu, and more.  His anticipated new album Drunk was released this month and features appearances by Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell, Kamasi Washington, Flying Lotus, Wiz Khalifa, Michael McDonald, and Kenny Loggins.  In their Best New Music review, Pitchfork stated, “The third album from bassist and songwriter Thundercat is whimsical and somber, funny and meaningful, sometimes all at once.  ‘Drunk’s’ oddball soul confronts the challenge of just trying to live life.”
